A1 Improvements
The motorway stretch between Leeming and Barton is undergoing major redevelopment. The plans involve replacing the existing motorway as well as providing a new local access road. It is of interest to the group as this work will involve changes to cycle lanes shared by horse riders that may affect access crossing the A1 as well as plans to create new bridleways in this area.
Since new road layouts are being proposed, making suggestions which will benefit riders in the future now allow for possible alteration to improve access in the future.
Public RoW
As a part of her Queen's Guide Award, Katie looked at public rights of way in terms of accessibility, disabled access, public rights and landowner’s responsibility. From this she produced three leaflets to raise awareness on these issues, which you can see below:
